Ticket to Learn Mission 

The TrainTastic Ticket to Learn Program is designed to expand access to high-quality educational experiences for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit the museum. Through this program, TrainTastic seeks to support schools with demonstrated financial need by providing funding for educational field trips that connect classroom learning with real-world STEAM concepts. 

The museum uses model railroading as a platform to introduce students to topics such as engineering, transportation systems, design, technology, problem-solving, and teamwork. 

Program Goals 

• Increase access toSTEAMlearning opportunities for underserved students
• Support teachers in providing hands-on educational experiences outside the classroom
• Inspire curiosity about engineering, transportation, and technology careers
• Provide engaging, interactive learning experiences that complement classroom instruction
• Encourage observation, critical thinking, and collaborative problem solving 

Eligibility 

Applicants must meet the following requirements: 

• The applicant must be ateacher, school administrator, or school representative.
• The school must be an accredited public school.
• Schools with Title I status or high percentages of students receiving free or reduced lunch are strongly encouraged to apply.
• The school must provide transportation for the field trip.

Priority consideration will be given to schools demonstrating the greatest financial need. 

Grant Coverage 

If awarded, the grant may cover: 

• Student admission toTrainTasticModel Railroad Museum
• Educational programming or guided activities provided by museum staff

Grant funds DO NOT cover transportation costs.
